Valentine’s Day It is a festivity that has divided the population into two different groups. First of all, there are the singles, who tend to hate it, dream of celebrating it next year or simply feel complete indifference. And on the other hand there are those who have partner, which usually present the same dichotomy: do we celebrate it? Do we pretend it’s a normal day and ignore it?
Today we are going to focus on those who they do celebrate Valentine’s Day and take advantage of Valentine’s Day to be with your partner. But this year we are going to go beyond the classic gifts and focus on give away one of the most important things we have: time (and time together, more specifically).
Because there is nothing like spending time with the person we love, enjoy their company and remain speechless looking at them thinking “how lucky I am”. That is why we have compiled some destinations to make a getaway express with our partner, in our country and some of our favorite hotels:
Seville
Seville is always a good idea: a city that breathes beauty in every corner and that makes you feel at home from the first time you step on it. The Andalusian capital also has a milder climate even in winter (although that does not mean that it will be cold, everything is said).
So yes, spending a few days with your partner in Seville and walking through its streets hand in hand is a resounding YES for us. And the Hotel Eme Catedral, in the heart of the Santa Cruz neighborhood and with breath-taking views of La Giralda, will be our ideal love nest.
Gran Canaria
Those who choose the Canary Islands as a destination often do so thinking only of good weather, but the reality is that the archipelago has much more. The quality of its people, its hospitality or the incredible landscapes that the islands hide are more than compelling reasons to spend a few days with our couple.
Our recommendation is stay in the city of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, since we will have everything that the capital offers with the communications that will allow us to explore the island from end to end. And the Hotel Silken Saaj, with a unique decoration, seems ideal to us.
asturian coast
Maybe, right off the bat, we wouldn’t choose Asturias as a destination in the middle of winter because of the weather. But, low temperatures aside, it is one of the best times to visit it because it is not so crowded. Y enjoy its landscapes quietly -more if it is with the person we love- it is a real joy.
We would choose a coastal town to establish our little love nest, preferably in the area of Cudillero and Soto del Barco. since they are near lighthouses, viewpoints and spectacular towns like Luarca or Pravia. And this rural hotel has conquered us for its views.
Malaga
The city of the Costa del Sol It is a good idea to visit in summer and also in winter. Both the capital, with the citadel and the Roman theater as some of its main attractions, as well as nearby towns such as Frigiliana or Nerja, the mythical town of Verano Azul.
Our recommendation is to stay in Malaga capital to be able to visit it quietly and, from there, move around the province. exploring and discovering villages. For this the hotel the riad We find it ideal for its decoration in the purest Andalusian style.
The Palm
Another of the islands that we recommend to spend a few days is La Palma, hard hit by the eruption of the already inactive volcano last September. a destination to which support this year more than ever with incredible landscapes, traditional cuisine and a unique culture.
Of volcanic formation, its more than 700 square kilometers have beaches, mountains and cities. And the hostel de la Palma seems to us to be an ideal place from which to discover them all.
Madrid
The capital of Spain could not be missing from our selection either, because it offers everything we could look for: culture, gastronomy, outdoor spaces… A city that has everything we could look for because brimming with life on all four sides.
Still falling into the clichés, without a doubt the best option to stay in Madrid during a getaway is the center. Since it is close to all the “interest” points, more touristic, as well as very well connected in case you fancy any other area of the capital. And the dear hotel, overlooking Plaza de España, is so spectacular that we love it.
Santiago de Compostela
It doesn’t matter when we visit it: Santiago de Compostela is always spectacular. Both its beautiful historic center and its crowded Plaza del Obradorio, with the cathedral imposingly presiding over it, are a spectacle 365 days a year.
Also from Santiago, if we want to explore the Galician interior a bit, we can easily reach other nearby towns. So it is a very interesting strategic point. Our pick in town is the Hotel Palacio del Carmen, a true visual marvel.
Barcelona
Lastly, could not miss the Barcelona which, like Madrid, has an enormous cultural and gastronomic offer. In addition to having some of the most emblematic places in our country, such as the Sagrada Familia or Park Güell.
Strolling through its streets and enjoying the life of the city, as well as the work and art of Gaudí, is a real pleasure. Much more if we are accompanied by our partner. The best thing is to get us a central hotel, like the Silken in the Rambas. And from there kick the whole city.
