The new generation of the Chevrolet Corvette Z06 is already facing its last stages of development, as evidenced by the recent sighting of several prototypes of this enhanced version. have been hunted in Europe shooting in a much lighter camouflage setup than usual and that has revealed the first specific features of this variant.
The new Chevrolet Corvette Z06 2023 will be the first version to reach the market to complete the offer of the American sports car with the Corvette Stingray. The new Chevrolet Corvette Z06 2023 will be more closely related than ever to the racing variant of the model, the Chevrolet Corvette C8.R GTE. From this racing variant he inherits his 5.5-liter naturally aspirated V8 and flat crankshaft, although its main peculiarity is that it is a DOHC block, with a double overhead camshaft, instead of a traditional push-rod block or rocker arms, like those usually mounted on the Corvette and the rest of the models in the range. Chevrolet. This V8 will deliver a power between 600 and 625 hp.
Sighting
These new examples of the Chevrolet Corvette Z06 2023 have been spotted just a few hours ago at the Nürburgring circuit, in Germany, where the test team of Chevy is testing up to 4 different prototypes of the model. Two of them have a fixed rear spoiler, in the style of the one used by the previous generation of the Z06, and the rest a huge stepped spoiler, similar to those we have seen in previous sightings of this version.
All the prototypes that star in this new series of spy photos have lost the thick black canvases that have characterized all the test units seen so far. Which allows us to see the first features, such as the more aggressive front bumper with large air intakes on the sides and a very pronounced and sharp splitter. On the sides we find no other changes than the huge newly designed wheels and on the rear we see the new exhaust configuration with central outlets and the new lower diffuser, which brings aesthetic changes to the bumper. In the gallery of images above we can see the two available aerodynamic configurations, with a fixed spoiler and the huge rear wing.
Although the first reports pointed out that this summer would be the time for the presentation of the new Chevrolet Corvette Z06, the latest news from North America confirm that the model will be launched during model year 2023 and its presentation will take place sometime this fall, as the company has already started the campaign to uncover the model with the publication of a first teaser.
