The actress Karen Fukuhara famous for playing Kimiko Miyashiro in The Boys has recounted a terrible situation she has experienced.
The Serie TheBoys is one of the most successful Amazon Prime Video and fans are looking forward to seeing the third season. But one of its stars, Karen Fukuharahas revealed on his social networks an incident that has happened to him.
“Today a man hit me in the head (I’m fine physically) and this shit needs to stop. We women, Asians, the elderly need his help ».
“I rarely share about my private life, but something happened today that I thought was important. I was walking to a coffee shop to have a coffee and a man hit me on the back of the head. He came out of nowhere. We didn’t make eye contact earlier, he wasn’t doing anything out of the ordinary. He surprised me and my hat flew off. When I looked back, he was a few meters away from me (he must have kept walking after hitting me). I thought about facing him first, but he started coming towards me and I didn’t. I think it was not worth the risk. After a few seconds of looking at each other, and him yelling at me, he finally walked away.” The actress shared TheBoys.
“I am writing this because I have had conversations with multiracial friends of mine who had no idea that these hate crimes happen to ordinary people, people they share meals with. I felt it was important to raise awareness. In the end, I know I was lucky. He could have come back to hit me again. He could have carried a gun. The impact of this experience made me think about taking self defense classes. But why is it something we have to think about as ‘victims’? What satisfaction do these perpetrators get from hitting women, Asians, ELDERLY? They must be held accountable. What can we do as a community to prevent these horrible crimes?” concluded Karen Fukuhara.
We hope that the actress does not suffer any more attacks and can continue enjoying the performance and continue showing us the adventures of Kimiko on TheBoys.
