In many regions of Spain the heat has come with force. You can beat the heat in many ways, and eating ice cream is one of the most common ways to combat it.
For this reason, the OCU (Organization of Consumers and Users) has carried out an analysis of 50 ice creams, of which some have turned out very well, but others not so much.
The OCU has used the Nutri Scorea system validated by the AESAN (Spanish Agency for Food Safety and Nutrition) which values both the contributions of components that are considered positive nutritional (content in fruits, nuts and vegetables, fibers, proteins and olive, rapeseed or walnut oil) like the negatives (calories, saturated fats, sugars and salt) per 100 g or ml of product.
Nutriscore penalizes calories, saturated fats, sugar and sal: foods such as pastries, sausages, snacks have in common an unhealthy nutritional composition, with too many sugars or fats.
Nutriscore acts as a nutritional traffic light: it is a classification system of 5 letters and colors, in which the dark green A is the healthiest option and the red E is the worst, going through B, C and D.
