Futuristic, that’s how Aura is defined. A high-performance, all-electric sports car that was developed in the UK. The two-seater to shoot with the sky for roof that promises special sensations on board, with a great autonomy.
Bells are ringing that some of the premium manufacturers are already considering rescuing convertibles from oblivion, albeit with a completely new conception marked by electrical energy. Despite the niche character of these cars, it is a solution to bring convertibles and roadsters back on the market.
The Aura is a somewhat more futuristic example, as it is an exclusive and functional model, developed in the United Kingdom. The result is a pure barchetta, without a windshield, without a hood and with only two seats. Designed by Astheimer, it features a completely flat body, with an aggressive front end and the rear wheels fully cowled to avoid aerodynamic turbulence, highlighting the small rear-view mirrors and a steel roll cage.
The Aura concept car is a very futuristic electric roadster
Light in weight, the body is made from lightweight natural fiber compositeswhile the interior has a minimalist design and just enough to enjoy driving. The instrument cluster is a 5-inch digital display built into the center of the steering wheel, which remains fixed and does not rotate with the steering wheel, while in the central part of the dashboard there is a 10-inch vertical touch screen.
The Aura concept car contains two lithium-ion underbody batteries, each 44 kWh capacity, which ensures energy for a maximum range of 640 kilometers. The on-board electronics that manage the power supply constantly make predictions, pointing, those responsible for the project, to an accuracy of 99.5%.
The system has an on-board charger with a power of 22 kW, so it hardly needs any four hours for a full recharge. What is not known for now, and is expected to be unveiled in the coming weeks, is its propulsion system that, surely, will have at least a pair of powerful electric motors.
