The Asus ZenFone Max Pro (M1) is a phone that has a long history in the market. This was announced in 2018 with the Android 8.1 Oreo operating system, but already today it uses Android 9 Pie in its stable form or Android 10 in beta form.
The device is waiting to definitively welcome Android 10 stable. At the moment, it is obtaining the third beta that the company has released for it recently. This comes equipped with various improvements (the typical ones) and a correction for the graphics of the battle royale PUBG Mobile, one of the most popular games on the Play Store.
Asus releases the third beta of Android 10 for the ZenFone Max Pro (M1)
In addition to the recurring improvements that always come with each new update, the device also receives multiple system optimizations that increase its stability, as well as correct minor errors. However, the most striking thing about this firmware package is the resolution that provides the frame rate problem in PUBG Mobile.
In question, before the ZenFone Max Pro (M1) alternates the frame rate per second of the game, regardless of the adjustment that has been previously made. This was a very reported problem by the community of users of this mobile, but it is already solved with this update, according to the changelog of the same.
More in-depth, the changes that the Chinese manufacturer mentions about the update are the following:
- Fixed the VOIP call mute issue after opening “OK Google” in the voice assistant.
- Fixed HD, HDR HD, missing high frame rate issue in PUBG.
- Fixed the NFC issue not working after updating to Android 10.
The new firmware, as reported by the GSMArena portal, has build number 17.2017.2006.429 and requires a download of around 1.7 GB via the company’s official site. Also, the update is only available for units with model code ZB602KL.
The new beta version of Android 10 does not bring new features to ZenFone Max Pro (M1), but increases the level of Android security patch on the smartphone until June 5, 2020.
Keep in mind, before installing it, that this is a beta update, so it is possible that it will come with some malfunctions, although it is unlikely since this type of OTA is usually polished as much as possible before launching. The stable version is on the way, but it is not known when it will arrive for the mobile.
The same as always: we recommend having the respective smartphone connected to a stable and high-speed Wi-Fi network to download and then install the new beta firmware package, in order to avoid unwanted consumption of the provider’s data package. It is also vital to have a good battery level to avoid any possible inconvenience during the installation process.
Recall that the Asus ZenFone Max Pro (M1) is a device that makes use of a 5.99-inch diagonal IPS LCD technology screen with a FullHD + resolution of 1,080 x 2,160 pixels. This does not come with a notch, pop-up camera or on-screen hole solution; instead, it has the old-fashioned thick top and bottom bezels from years ago.
The SoC that lives under its hood is the Snapdragon 6366, a legendary eight-core processor chipset that is no longer available on new smartphones but offers a maximum clock rate of 1.8 GHz. This is paired with up to 6 GB of RAM memory, an internal storage space of up to 128 GB and a 5,000 mAh capacity battery with support for 10 W charging.
Its dual rear camera is made up of a 13 or 16 MP main sensor (depending on the model), and a 5 MP secondary trigger. The front camera can be 8 MP or 16 MP.
