The arrival of the new Alfa Romeo Tonale 2022 is practically imminent. The Italian firm hastened the development deadlines for the brand’s second SUV, which is about to debut, taking advantage of the low temperatures in northern Sweden. Two prototypes pose in new spy photos, increasingly uncovered.
The world premiere of new Alfa Romeo Tonale It already has a specific date and time. The second SUV of the Biscione brand is about to debut being one of the most anticipated novelties of this year 2022, inaugurating a new chapter in the history of the Milanese brand.
The brand is striving to complete the pre-production adjustments in the prototypes present in the north of Sweden where, once again, a couple of units have been sighted in what may be the last spy photos of its development before it is completely uncovered. One of lime and another of sand give, while one of the Tonale exposes practically the entire front, with the aggressive look of its “Full LED” headlights. A very challenging look inherited from the concept SZ and RZ, which is complemented by the usual grille and a bumper with a huge air intake with a honeycomb pattern painted in black.
The Alfa Romeo Tonale 2022 speeds up its testing deadlines
But, at the opposite extreme, it cannot be said that it has been uncovered, since it does not even have the production headlamps. On the other hand, the second prototype does show them reproducing the same luminous design of the headlights. The images also allow a quick look inside, where you can see a digital instrument cluster under a visor and touch screen above the center console for the infotainment and multimedia system.
Some very interesting spy photos, because it is not Alfa Romeo itself that is making the final adjustments. Hence, they have more or less advanced units. In reality, it is the technicians of Vitesco Technologies, one of the world leaders in different technologies, and very specialized in the field of electrification. Technology that will be on board the new SUV of the Italian brand in different options, with 48 Volt and also as plug-in hybrid.
The new Alfa Romeo Tonale will debut in early February, entering production in March, and arriving to dealers in early June. The firm will offer different versions, gasoline, diesel and plug-in hybrid, all with an 8-speed automatic transmission which will be available from market launch. One more opponent that joins the category of Premium SUVs with the style and sportiness typical of Italy, promising to stand up to the Germans.
