Tesla has put on sale a new accessory: a microphone for karaoke in the car. The TeslaMic is only available in China at the moment. The company introduced it in the midst of releasing a software update for the Chinese New Year, which adds a karaoke platform called Leishi KTV to the infotainment systems.
The microphone automatically pairs with the infotainment system, according to Tesla. The TeslaMic comes in a pack of two, so it could come in handy if you ever want to park somewhere with a date or a friend and compete to see who’s the better singer. The package costs around 150 euros, but the Tesla store page has been down since it was announced due to the barrage of requests.
Whether Tesla will sell the TeslaMic outside of China remains to be seen. In the meantime, there’s an official Carpool Karaoke microphone that you can plug into your car’s audio system, though you’ll need additional software to make it work.
