President Andrés Manuel López Obrador assured that the companies will comply with their contributions.
Televisa would pay up to 15 billion for the merger operation with Univisión.
Televisión Azteca, as mentioned, will pay what has been requested in the resolution of the Supreme Court of Justice.
The president, Andrés Manuel López Obrador, used as an example the cases of the two most important national television stations, Televisa Group and Television Aztecaensuring that these so-called “millionaire taxes” would be paid.
The president considered that “there is progress” in the issue of tax collection and also pointed out that the companies mentioned would be complying to the letter with their tax obligations.
Let us remember that TV Azteca was facing a trial for a debt with the SAT from almost 15 years ago, for around 2 thousand 636 million pesos. On the other hand, the union of Televisa with Univisión would have cost almost 15 billion pesos.
In the morning, AMLO commented the following:
“I have information that they are already going to pay the Televisa Group for the sale that was made, the merger operation with Univisión, 15 billion. I also have information that will pay Aztec Television for the trial that has just been resolved by the Supreme Court of Justice”.
He also highlighted his preference for using the word “contributions” instead of “taxes” and stressed that tax evasion would no longer be allowed.
Finally, the executive pointed out the fact that businessmen have complied and are complying with the payment of their taxes:
“Companies are complying, I celebrate this, that we are all acting respecting the law, the true rule of law, that there is no influence,” he said.
