If you’ve ever been dissatisfied with what you bought at a restaurant, you can understand the frustration of Frank Siragusa with Taco Bell. This citizen of NY filed a class action lawsuit on July 31, 2023 accusing the food chain tex mex to use misleading advertising in their mexican pizza and ‘crunch wraps’.
Little meat in the “Mexican pizzas”
According to Washington PostSiragusa accused the restaurant brand (owned by Yum Brands) of putting little meat in their products and of having “deceptive and unfair trade practices by advertising false amounts of beef and/or ingredients.”
“The Mexican pizza Plaintiff purchased contained approximately half the expected meat and bean filling,” the lawsuit states. The complaint documentation includes photos used by Taco Bell in its ads along with photos of the actual items taken by customers, the latter of which look flat and unappealing next to the company’s images.
The client demands compensation for 5 million dollars.
They ask Taco Bell to change their ads
The lawsuit also alleges that customers would not have purchased Taco Bell products had they known the actual amount of meat contained. According to the complainants, the chain’s ads are “unfair and financially damaging to consumers…which is worrisome, especially now that inflation and food and meat prices are so high and many customers, especially low-income They are struggling financially.”
In addition to compensating the people who purchased the products, the litigants are also asking Taco Bell to “provide corrected ads” or stop selling the items.
This complaint to Taco Bell also references other consumer complaints on Reddit and YouTube about the stuffing on “Mexican pizzas.”
