Suits (2011-2019)
What is it about?
Mike Ross is a young man who abandoned his dream of becoming a lawyer. To make a living, he poses as other aspiring lawyers to take the bar exam in his place. However, eventually, he gets involved in drug trafficking, which gets him into trouble with the law. Fortunately, he is presented with an opportunity to join a prestigious law firm in New York.
There, Mike meets Harvey Specter, the most renowned lawyer and recent senior partner of the firm. Although he is not a graduate, Mike manages to catch Harvey’s attention. Seeing how intelligent Mike is, he decides to hire him while pretending not to know anything about his false career as a lawyer. Mike becomes Harvey’s apprentice and they soon realize that his personalities and abilities complement each other perfectly to defend justice.
The cast of the series Suits
The cast that makes up the series has been fundamental to its success, since their way of interpreting the characters is very genuine. People felt great attachment and admiration from the beginning of the series. The protagonists are Gabriel Machtwho plays the prestigious lawyer Harvey Specter and was there for all nine seasons. Patrick J. Adamswho plays law apprentice Mike Ross, ran for seven seasons and as a guest in the ninth and final season. Rick Hoffman plays Louis Litt, a lawyer at the firm looking to compete with others. He was present during all seasons.
Meghan Markle She plays Rachel Zane and ran for seven seasons. Sarah Rafferty She plays Donna Paulsen and was there throughout all the seasons. Amanda Schull She plays Katrina Bennett, who is a recurring character from season two and protagonist of the last two. Dule Hill plays Alex Williams and Katherine Heigl plays Samantha Wheeler.
Why was there no season 10?
When it became known that season 9 would be the last of the series, audiences were surprised wondering why there wouldn’t be another season or two. The reality is that since three of the main characters left in season 7 (Gina Torres, Meghan Markle and Patrick J. Adams), the series was not the same even though some of the main characters still remained.
It doesn’t necessarily mean that the series couldn’t sustain itself with the three remaining protagonists, but that the main hook of the series was actually the chemistry between Mike and Harvey, which is why they preferred to end it in season nine and not go any further. Although it should be noted that the other characters were also loved by the public.
The series formally ended in October 2019. For its finale, Patrick J. Adams was back because the creators knew it was worth putting these two lawyers together one last time.
