The Spanish Transport Association (AET) published an executive report on blockchain technology titled: “Introduction and comparison of different distributed registry technologies for the development of use cases”. The report, which was prepared by various professionals linked to the organization, includes a set of comparative studies and conclusions on the current state of this technology in Spain and Europe.
Also, according to its content, The second sector with the highest percentage of application of Blockchain technology, only behind Fintech, is transport and logistics, thus being the reason why the study has been oriented there.
On the other hand, they point out that Blockchain technology, in vogue since the appearance of Bitcoin, has shown numerous use cases without, in many cases, having successfully passed the “Proof of Concept” phase. For this reason, they explain that the approach of many users towards this technology is incomplete.
Finally, it should also be noted that, in said study, the characteristics of a series of blockchain platforms were collected and analyzed, through the measurement of a variety of parameters and characteristics of this technology.
Among the networks studied, the best known ones stand out, such as Bitcoin, Ethereum, Ripple, VeChain, IOTA, and others with more specific uses at business and project levels where end-to-end traceability of the supply chain, automation and information certification are some of the most demanded features. Such is the case with Alastria, Hyperledger Besu, Hyperledger Fabric, and Quorum.
