Hermen Hulst explained that since the beginning of 2021 the technology firm had already started working with Jade.
After the announcement they have not yet reported what their first project will be, so it is still unknown, but it has been in development for at least a year.
Hermen Hulst, director of PlayStation Studios, celebrated the announcement of the agreement in a press release published by PlayStation Spain, where he also thanked Jade Raymond for his work.
The new alliances and mergers between the brands have been strongly established in these first three months of the year. It was recently revealed that Sony Interactive Entertainment buys a new studio, which is Haven, the firm led by Jade Raymon that was founded in March 2021, and will be part of PlayStation.
According to data from Statista, Sony generated more than US$84 billion in total annual revenue in 2020.
Likewise, the statistics platform indicates that around a third of Sony’s revenues come from its gaming and networking segment, which includes the company’s outstanding line of game consoles. While other products and services in Sony’s diverse portfolio include televisions, cameras, semiconductors, as well as around 110,000 movies and music.
Sony buys Haven’s studio
The Japanese technology brand announced the acquisition of Haven Studios, the study led by Jade Raymond, which means that it will become part of PlayStation Studios.
After the announcement they have not yet reported what their first project will be, so it is still unknown, but it has been in development for at least a year, when the firm publishes it will do so exclusively for PS5 and PC.

“Jade brings us a wealth of experience backed by her industry achievements and an infectious passion for creating games. Ella’s Haven team brings together industry veterans who have collaborated on some of the biggest and most beloved games and franchises,” she says in part of the text.
Likewise, the director maintains that “today, I am pleased to announce that Haven Studios will officially join PlayStation Studios. Jade Raymond brings a wealth of experience from her industry achievements and an infectious passion for creating games, and Haven’s leadership team is an equally impressive group of industry veterans who have collaborated on some of the games and franchises greater and dearer than many of us continue to enjoy today.
Sony already works with Haven Studios
In the letter, Hulst explained that since the beginning of 2021 the technology firm had already started working with Jade and the entire development team before the purchase of Haven Studios was made official.
“Today, the Haven team begins a new phase of our journey as part of the PlayStation Studios family. Working with Hermen, Connie Booth and the PlayStation team over the last year has been a career highlight.
