Whether we change operator (portability) or register a new mobile line, we always receive a SIM card with its corresponding PIN code to unlock it. That PIN code, as we know, is a four-digit password that you can change easily and quickly from the settings of your mobile phone, be it iOS or Android.
But what happens if we forget the PIN code of the SIM card or enter it three times incorrectly? That we will have to use the PUK code to unblock the mobile line. This PUK code (Personal Unlocking Key, Personal Unlocking Key) is an eight-digit figure that appears printed on the cardboard where the SIM card came; In case we have thrown that cardboard or we cannot find it, we will have to obtain it through our operator. Here we tell you the procedure to follow in the most common ones.
Movistar and O2
In the case of Movistar, we have several ways to obtain the PUK code. Independently of that your mobile line is a contract or prepaid cardYou can get the PUK by accessing your private area in a browser or in the ‘Mi Movistar’ app. Also, if you are a contract client and you want the PUK to be sent to someone else’s mobile, you can fill out this form.
O2, for its part, refers you directly to your app ‘My O2’, which you will have to install on another mobile or tablet if yours is blocked. Within the application, click on ‘Management’ and touch the mobile line for which you want to see the PUK so that it will show you the code.
Orange, Jazztel and Simyo
Orange offers you several ways to consult the PUK. One of them is by calling 1470 from another Orange mobile line that is not blocked (at 656001470 from another operator’s line) and clearly saying “PUK query”. Another is to access the customer area in a browser or the ‘My Orange’ app, and enter the “My line” section. You can also write to WhatsApp Orange: 653 85 00 85.
Something similar happens with Jazztel: you can call 1565 from another Jazztel mobile line or 640 001 565 from a landline or mobile phone of another operator, and say “PUK inquiry”. You can also enter your customer area or the app ‘ Jazztel ‘and access the SIM Management section> View PIN / PUK.
From Simyo they recommend going to your personal area from a browser or from the app and, within the “My account” section, you will be able to see the PUK code of your SIM card. However, you can also call 1644 free from a simyo number or 644100121 from another operator.
Vodafone and Lowi
Vodafone also offers you several options to check your PUK code. The most common is to do it in the client area, either through the ‘My Vodafone’ app or through a browser (in the side menu, click on “My Devices”> “PIN and PUK”). You can also request it at a Vodafone store or by calling toll free 1550; in the latter case, at the end of the call, you will receive an SMS with your PUK code on the phone from which you have called.
In the case of Lowi, you can call 121 from an operator phone (1456 if the line is from another) or use the ‘My Lowi’ application or the client area in a browser. There, once you have accessed with your username and password, you must enter in the “SIM” section to see your PIN code and PUK code.
Yoigo, Pepephone and MásMóvil
Yoigo invites you to call 622 for free from another Yoigo mobile or 622 622 622 from any phone. You can also see the PUK code from the customer area or the ‘Mi yoigo’ app, going into Settings> Security.
MásMóvil directly proposes you that you call customer service: 2373 if you call from your MásMóvil number (free) or 911 333 333 if you call from another number not MásMóvil.
To see the PUK code of a Pepephone mobile line, enter Mipepephone and access the “My Products” section. Here, the operator reminds us that, in the case of an eSIM, the PUK appears in the email they send you with the QR code.
