Valve continues to improve the Steam desktop client interface to display more relevant information. With the latest beta client update, we will now have some of the most relevant data about a game right on the game page: the required disk space.
This information, at the moment, only appears when you click the ‘Install’ button on a game’s page in your library. It may not seem like much, but is extremely important information that is great to have at hand at a glance.
This feature is available in the beta version of Steam, but will be rolling out to all users soon. If you want to join the Steam beta to test new features right now, just open the Steam client, click on the top menu on Steam > Parameters > Bill and change your beta participation from ‘None’ to ‘Steam Beta Update’. Then just restart Steam to notice the changes.
The Steam Deck will probably make Steam better for everyone
Now that Valve is preparing for the launch of the long-awaited Steam Deck, the company continues to optimize its PC gaming platform and these types of improvements have the clear objective of improving the experience there, where storage is worth more than goldbut as a result, they end up improving everyone’s experience.
We learned a short time ago that they are working on a technology to play video games before they finish downloading, something that we have had on consoles for years since the days of PS4 and Xbox One, and that would come in handy on Steam and its Deck.
As Valve transforms the Linux gaming landscape, it has also been transforming its client interface since the end of 2019 with the new library and its collections, with more and more customization options and adjustments to organize our games.
