After seeing how the Bitcoin Law was approved in El Salvador and cases of positive impact on the adoption of that digital currency began to proliferate, Indira Kempis urged the Mexican government to follow the example and update itself to potentially promote global financial inclusion.
The Senator is already developing the bill and hopes to present it to Congress in the middle of the year, because, according to Kempis, after visiting El Salvador a few weeks ago, she was able to collect data and ideas from experts on the subject in order to strengthen her initiative.
“It is clear to me that financial exclusion is one of the public problems that few of us have addressed with feasible alternatives, and that this type of technology is allowing us to generate an alternative so that millions of people can be included in the financial system. ”, said the young official.

And it is that for Indira Kempis the adoption of Bitcoin would give a historic opportunity to countries like Mexico to address problems such as inequality.
“We need Bitcoin to be legal tender in Mexico, because if it isn’t, if we don’t make that decision like El Salvador did, it’s very difficult to take action,” he said in an interview for an El Salvador media outlet.
Likewise, the woman suggested that the Salvadoran President, Nayib Bukele, could have started a cryptocurrency revolution with the potential for financial growth, at least in parts of Latin America.
“Making Bitcoin legal tender means putting a level playing field for people who are excluded in almost every country,” added Indira Kempis.
In 2018, the woman assumed the position of Senator of the Republic and, since then, has been actively promoting the crypto industry through technological and social movements in which she even surrounded herself with a community of crypto entrepreneurs, developers and enthusiasts to understand the advantages and risks of the advance that this virtual currency can generate.
“Now that I am participating in politics, I seek to promote it,” he added.
support and request
Other Mexican senators such as Eduardo Murat Hinojosa have already established support for initiatives in favor of cryptocurrencies and even, shortly after the Salvadoran Legislative Assembly approved the Bitcoin Law, in June 2021, they asked President Andrés Manuel López Obrador to reconsider their decision not to adopt this virtual currency.
In addition, businessmen such as Ricardo Salinas Pliego, founder of Grupo Salinas, have highlighted on social networks that the future is the purchase of BTC and “forgetting to sell”.
