As reported in the latest development update for the game, Scorn will not be a shooter. Ebb Software has published another monthly Scorn report, this time focused on weapons. Although there is shooting within the game, the developer stressed that you shouldn’t expect it to be a shooter. Rather than over-the-top gunfights, Scorn’s weapons will be more of an optional tool for progressing through the story.
The Weapons often play a critical role in survival horror games., but the genre is very different from a shooter, and Scorn is no exception. The studio tries to invoke the feeling of tension and discomfort among players, so ammunition will be extremely scarce. You shouldn’t feel overly powerful when exploring the environment, so definitely not, Scorn won’t be a shooter.
Scorn shows much more of his world
Scorn will not be a shooter
The general director Ljubomir Peklar supervises every step of the creation process of each weapon, from concept to completion, making sure the weapons are consistent with the overall vision of the game, according to which Scorn will not be a shooter. “The human being has a strange relationship with his tools, especially with weapons,” he says. “How a player’s or character’s behavior changes when they get a weapon is an interesting underlying theme that I’ve kept in mind during development.”
Scorn reaffirms its launch for October 2022
Ebb has also shared several short clips featuring Scorn’s “weapons,” as well as high-detail 3D models of some of them. Players can expect them to be relatively standard in terms of functionality, like a pistol, shotgun, or grenade launcher. There will also be a melee weapon in the gamewhich also serves as a tool to interact with various mechanisms that can be found.
