In just over a week (specifically on June 12) the “Xbox & Bethesda Games Showcase” will take place, the great event of the North American company that was previously held as part of E3. Last year we were able to enjoy a conference full of announcements, gameplays and surprises that set the bar very, very high, something that the majority of users who saw the event agree on.
One of the stars of the previous event was, without a doubt, Halo Infinite. The title developed by 343 Industries had all the attention on it, since it was the first time we saw footage of the campaign since the gameplay fiasco we had in 2020. Now, months after its launch and with the second season of the multiplayer active, we ask ourselves: What Halo Infinite news can we expect at the Xbox & Bethesda Showcase 2022?
A hypothetical third season of multiplayer
A month ago, Halo Infinite received the second season of its multiplayer mode, called “Lone Wolves”, where we once again had a battle pass with 100 levels and their respective rewards, as well as two totally new maps and several game modes that were thank you very much. And even though very little time has passed, many of us need to know the next steps that the study will take…
And what better than showing us the first details of the next season pass, which would make a large part of the community pay close attention to the near future of the title. Also, It would not be bad if 343 Industries decided to show a kind of “roadmap” of everything they have planned until the end of this year, because if the community goes blind for too long… It will eventually get fed up.
The Forge mode and the cooperative campaign
Since before its release, 343 Industries informed us that the game was going to launch without two of the most requested aspects by the community: the cooperative campaign and the classic Forge mode. On the one hand, the cooperative campaign is an inseparable aspect of the experience offered by the star Xbox franchise since its first installmentand that we have not yet been able to enjoy the story of the Master Chief and the Weapon in the Halo Zeta Facility with another friend / family member, is something that weighs heavily.
However, 343 Industries not only has to offer that option, but it must also implement the beloved Forge, so that users can create, save and enjoy together with our friends maps created by the community itself, something that has undoubtedly been a total success since Halo 3. Although we can get by without this mode, It would be a great addition to have it at our disposal, since as we have seen on many other occasions, the community has an unimaginable creative capacity.
The expansion of the adventure of the Master Chief and company
Before entering narrow territory, you have been warned: later there will be spoilers of the final bars of the main plot of Halo Infinite, so first of all, help the Master Chief finish the fight, and then come back. Leaving aside the warning, we already saw that at the end of the story, the Master Chief, the Weapon and Fernando Sparza, the UNSC pilot, do not plan to leave the ring until they discover more about the secrets of the Infinites, and what is what both Atriox and his Banished and the Broadcaster sought.
The Broadcaster comes from a totally new race called “the Infinites”, beings that were imprisoned in these same facilities by the Forerunners, and whom she sought to free them from their imprisonment, an idea that is not fully developed in the main story. . Shortly after her departure, Xbox registered a trademark related to Halo Infinite that could be deduced as the name of the next story expansionsomething that would marry perfectly with the final cliff-hanger that we see.
As we have already said several times, Halo Infinite’s story serves more as a kind of “prologue” to something much bigger that may come in the future in the form of expansions, adding more open and much more varied areas to the map that we already have as a base. With this, 343 Industries could create a gigantic adventure that would honor the Master Chief and this franchise.
343 Industries has a titanic task ahead
Many of the franchise’s most die-hard fans were surprised (for the better) by the excellent work the studio did with both the campaign and its multiplayer. But months after its release, the community feels neglected, without much content or information about the future of the franchisefearing the worst: that it be abandoned too soon.
Halo is the flagship of Xbox, and the company has to give it the treatment it really deserves, and not leave it abandoned in the shadows. We need to know the future plans of 343 Industries in terms of multiplayer, we need to know when we will be able to play the campaign in co-op or Forge mode, and of course we need to know more about the plot that is presented to us in the base game, and see how 343 Industries concludes the narrative arcs they present. Halo Infinite is destined to be a great game… But only 343 Industries can make it happenand hopefully in this event, it will happen.
