Through Terastalization, the players of Pokémon Scarlet and Violet they can even change the base type of all their Pokémon using the battle trick during battle, allowing for interesting combinations.

Pokémon Scarlet and Violet early-purchase bonus will be a special Flying Tera-type Pikachuwhich also knows the move Fly and cannot be obtained through normal gameplay.
This exclusive bonus is special for Pokémon collectors and fans of the series, because this special Pikachu will be able to terastalize into an Electric/Flying Pokémon that is therefore immune to Ground-type moves, like Emolga. Since this Pikachu knows the move Fly, it means that it can deal damage with it when it Terastalizes, making it even more desirable.
With the trailer, Pokémon Scarlet and Violet adds 3 new Pokémon to those that fans already know, and the rumored alternate forms of Koraidon and Miraidon are also confirmed. As it stands, Generation 9 could be one of the most unique in the franchise, and fans will want to seek out all kinds of Tera-type Pokémon, hence why a special, otherwise unattainable Pikachu is a gift for fans
