Since the beginning of this armed conflict, many specialists have generated information to fight against the second war that is generated from this disinformation. According to experts, the various anecdotes recorded on social networks about this armed conflict “are crucial to the country’s war plan and are part of the war doctrine that values not only winning individual skirmishes but also hearts and minds of citizens and international observers.
But one of the main sources of misinformation in the face of this problem is the challenge government of Vladimir Putin, who has won the veto of many social networks, media and platforms for sharing propaganda and false information against their Ukrainian opponents.
Russian embassy sparked outrage by accusing influencer of staging photos of attacks
Through his Twitter account, the embassy of the Kremlin in London stamped a giant “FAKE” on the shared photos of the attack on the hospital in Mariupol. In the publication he also insisted that the “hospital only housed radical neo-Nazis”.
The image in question is the photograph of a pregnant woman fleeing with blood dripping from her face, while in the background you can see the hospital destroyed by the bombs.
What caused the indignation of Internet users and was reviewed by the Times of London was that the embassy stated that this was only “very realistic makeup”.
“She is the beauty blogger [de Ucrania] pregnant, Marianna Podgurskaya”Russia’s embassy in London said on Twitter.
They also added that “She actually played the roles of both pregnant women in the photos.”
But these statements were not the only ones, since the diplomatic entity detailed as evidence that the images were taken by a “famous propagandist photographer”, naming an award-winning war photographer who was covering the invasion for the Associated Press news agency.
The embassy also insisted that “She couldn’t be in the maternity home at the time of the strike, as the neo-Nazi Azov battalion took her for a long time and told all the staff to clear the place.”
As one of the measures applied by social networks, Twitter removed the posts after outrage from netizens and the British government.
For her part, UK Culture Secretary Nadine Dorries tweeted regarding Russia’s post that “this is fake news. It is clear that this is more misinformation.”
