We are already more than used to The reactions in different social networks, such as the ‘likes’ of Twitter or those of Instagram, as the most popular, but now it seems that this system to interact with messages is close to landing on the most popular messaging app of the moment, WhatsApp.
As often happens in these cases, the reactions are for now a feature in development by the WhatsApp team, but a new leak warns us that the app will also notify us each time one of our messages receives a. And yes, it also lets us see that we can deactivate these reaction notices whenever we want.
Notifications with sound, text or disabled
As we said, the notifications are about to reach WhatsApp, once they pass the relevant testing phases and also appear in the beta version of the application, and the planning of the notification system is already underway. As expected, WhatsApp wants to notify us every time a contact adds a reaction to one of our messages with an emoji of your choice, but apparently we can deactivate this option.
The information lands, of course, from the hand of WABetaInfo, the account responsible for the vast majority of WhatsApp leaks. In the last leak we see, once the hidden code in the application has been rebuilt and activated, how the reactions already appear in the WhatsApp configuration section. Initially in its version for Android, but everything indicates that they will be available in all versions practically at the same time.
In the screenshot offered by WABetaInfo we can see that the reactions will occupy a dedicated space in the WhatsApp notifications section along with normal messages and group notifications. As in the case of the other two, the notifications of each reaction can be deactivated, and also we can choose if we want them to be audible or simply to be notified with a text on the phone screen, in the notification bar.
For the moment this function is not activated, although it is already present in the code of the beta version of WhatsApp for Android. We will be attentive when the company decides to release them and let us test how they work. If everything goes as usual in the app, we could see these reactions and their corresponding notifications in less than a month, but we will have to wait.
