The National Service of Health, Safety and Food Quality (Senasica) reported the presence of the highly pathogenic avian influenza virus (HPAI) AH5N1 in three broiler chicken farms located in the municipalities of Asientos and Rincón de Romos in Aguascalientes.
According to the authorities, the three farms where the influenza outbreak occurred avian were home to 826 thousand 800 birds, for which internal quarantine was established in Aguascalientes.
In this sense, derived from the finding, the General Directorate of Animal Health (DGSA) of the body of the Secretariat of Agriculture and Rural Development, imposed the final quarantine on the three poultry production units (UPA) involved to control the outbreak of avian influenza.
Likewise, it was announced that the veterinarians of the United States-Mexico Commission for the Prevention of Foot-and-Mouth Disease and other Animal Diseases (CPA) of Senasica began the application of the indicated sanitary measures, Therefore, the depopulation, cleaning and disinfection, sanitary vacuum and centralization of the three affected UPAs will be carried out.
Similarly, after the announcement was made, The authorities stressed that they also began the corresponding epidemiological investigation, which implies the taking of samples in family and commercial farms that are within a 10-kilometer radius of the affected UPAs.
The authorities stressed that the detection of the virus was the product of active epidemiological surveillance for avian influenza that is carried out in the establishment. Federal Inspection Type (TIF) regulated by Senasica, located in the municipality of San Francisco de los Romo.
