Puyol and Íker Casillas turn on the networks for a surprising tweet
From the early hours of Sunday, Iker Casillas’s Twitter account surprised all his followers, as his former teammate in the Spanish team and friend, Carles Puyol, responded to the tweet “I hope they respect me: I’m gay”, con “it’s time to tell our story, Iker”.
“Iker Casillas”:
By tweets they posted @Iker Casillas Y @Carles5puyol pic.twitter.com/5wxah9BKTc– Why is it a trend? (@becausetrend) October 9, 2022
However, a short time later, the publication was taken down, and the goalkeeper posted a tweet, in which he assured that his account had been blocked. “Hacked account. Luckily everything is in order. Apologies to all my followers. And of course, more apologies to the LGBT community.”

However, shortly after, his friend, Carles Puyol assured that it was all a joke, pointing out his total respect and support for the LGTBIQA+ community.
I have made a mistake. Sorry for a clumsy joke with no bad intentions and totally out of place. I understand that it may have hurt sensitivities. All my respect and support for the LGTBIQA+ community

However, for many the tweet generated various controversies, some that were taken as a joke, while for others, the action was questionable.
Don’t worry, it’s also successful for me. Once again the hacker on duty wrote: “I hope my rispetterete: I sound like a calciatrice”. Poi – obviously – ho cancellato e chiesto scusa a tutti.

You have not been wrong at all.
Anyone who feels offended by a joke, in a tone and context that was perfectly understood, that you have written as a wink to a colleague, has a problem. And it is much more serious than the anecdotal discrimination that this group may suffer in 2022.– Endika Antruejo (@antroix) October 9, 2022
