A little over half a year has passed since the start of vaccination in our country and during this period there have been chiaroscuro. It all started with setbacks and even Mexico was the first country in Latin America to apply the biological against Covid-19. Although soon after the first problems arose because some pharmaceuticals they stopped sending the agreed inputs. That caused a delay in the original plans although now the panorama has stabilized.
Based on what was released by the Ministry of Health (SSa), so far a total of 47 million 463 thousand 637 people over 18 years of age have received at least one dose. While 25 million 792 thousand 543 already have the complete protection scheme.
Now, if you want to look at pharmaceutical companies, then in total Mexico has received 25 million 194 thousand 975 doses of Pfizer-BioNTech; 29 million 392 thousand 400 from AstraZeneca; 20 million from SinoVac, four million 400 thousand from Sputnik V; six million 101 thousand 770 from Cansino and one million 350 thousand from Janssen of the Johnson and Johnson laboratory. Everything gives a total of 86 million 539 thousand 145 doses and includes those packaged from other countries and those packaged in national territory.
Countries with the most vaccinated people
On the other hand, although the figures seem encouraging, they are actually too low even when compared to Latin American countries. In this regard, the statistics portal Our World In Data points out that as of July 31, only 36.34 percent of the total population of Mexico had received at least one dose of the immunization. With this, our country is placed in tenth place in the region with respect to vaccination.

In that sense, Uruguay and Chile are the two nations that are at the fore in this area. So far they are the most advanced and those that are closest to being able to immunize all its inhabitants or at least those of legal age. Although it is true that their population is small and that favors them, neither can we deny the good work that has been done with respect to the application of the biological.
While at the opposite point are countries of Central America and the Caribbean such as Guatemala, Nicaragua and Haiti. So far they are the ones that have lagged the furthest behind and their advance in vaccination is minimal. The main reason is because they do not have the financial resources to buy enough biologicals. Therefore, only a minimal sample of its inhabitants has been able to be inoculated.
