Last weekend, thousands of Bad Bunny fans found a common enemy on Ticketmaster. Chaos took over the access to the Azteca Stadium, a venue where the singer gave a long-awaited concert. The reason? The security of the place denied access to hundreds of attendees for, supposedly, have fake tickets. Obviously, many turned against Ticketmaster for possible fraud and illegal behavior. But the prophecy He has already intervened to provide justice.
According to the information issued by Ricardo Sheffield, head of said institution, what happened with the ticket office is a delicate behavior, therefore corrective measures will be taken in order to avoid new disasters in future events.
“They are going to have to pay it and additionally they are going to be fined, and the proportion of the fine is to be determined the following week. It is a quite serious situation, quite delicate. This fine can be up to 10 percent of last year’s sales,” Sheffield explained to Grupo Fórmula.
Another measure taken by Profeco is the reimbursement to those who were affected, plus a minimum of 20% compensation. Sheffield also stressed that the tickets purchased through legitimate means were not fake, but were all due to overbooking by Ticketmaster. This clarification is due to the fact that part of the personnel dedicated to reviewing the accesses assured that the system detected them as if they were false.
“What we were able to verify is that Ticketmaster, which is solely responsible, issued at least 1,600 double tickets, in other words, it oversold the concert (…) Ticketmaster said they were fake, but they made more tickets. It is a very elegant way to oversell ”, he added.
Although Ticketmaster has been available to users to answer questions from attendees, some have expressed their fear that said ticket office will not be responsible for the aforementioned refunds. Given this, the Profeco will also shortly open a microsite to receive complaints and will supervise the return of the money, all in order to avoid more problems in the long term.

“The more opposition Ticketmaster presents, as they say in my town, the more he coughs it up, the bigger the fine that will be imposed for closing this issue,” Sheffield concluded.
What do you think? Do you agree with the possible fine to Ticketmaster for the chaos at the Bad Bunny concert? What measure would you apply to avoid more scams in the long term?
Juan Jose Cruz I am one of those who always defended Robert Pattinson as Batman and can see the same movie in the theater up to 7 times. My guilty pleasure? Low budget horror movie.
