“I wish Walmart could be an ally in all the consumer marketplaces,” Sheffield urged.
The agency’s data indicates that in the case of the northern zone, the most expensive was Smart with a price of 1,057 pesos, and the cheapest was Bodega Aurrera in Saltillo with the basic basket at 909 pesos.
Sheffield also explained that there is a downward trend in high prices and, conversely, an upward trend in low ones.
La Profeco revealed that in the southern zone, the most expensive establishment is once again the Central de Abasto de Mérida, with 1,104 pesos, the highest amount in the entire country. And the cheapest was Bodega Aurrera de Veracruz, with a price of 916 pesos.
