Do you have problems with the Wi-Fi of your mobile? It is very slow? Can’t connect? Today we review the main problems that can arise when you connect your Android mobile to a Wi-Fi network. There can be several reasons related to the mobile or the Wi-Fi router, so it is important to take some time and detect what is failing. Some of the more common problems can be easily fixed with a couple of adjustments.
The most common Wi-Fi connection problems on an Android mobile
The problems with the Wi-Fi may be related to the slow, cuts connection or also when searching for the network to connect. In the following list you can see the most common problems and failures related to Wi-Fi connection and your Android mobile. Today we do a review and we tell you some tricks and solutions for these problems.

- My mobile cannot find the network
- Wi-Fi connection drops every few minutes
Mobile Wi-Fi is very slow: possible reasons and solutions
If you have noticed that the Wi-Fi of your mobile is too slow there can be several reasons. The first is that your device is downloading or uploading some type of content in the background. The updates from Google Play or upload images to Google Photos can saturate the bandwidth for a few minutes and make sure the connection is very slow. Check what your mobile is doing in the background and if any process is running it is very likely the cause of the slowness. When it’s done, it should be back to normal.
Another reason for slowness may be related to the band you are connected to. Today’s Wi-Fi routers typically have two bands: 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz. The standard is the first and the one that 95% of users use to connect to their different routers. If you live in a block of flats or in a city, the 2.4 GHz band may be saturated on almost all channels.
A very good solution is to connect to the 5 GHz band of your router. It has less range, but the intensity will be greater and it is very likely that it is not saturated. This 5 GHz band can be displayed on your router as ‘ NetName_Plus ‘ or ‘ NetName_5GHz ‘, it all depends on the manufacturer and the operator. If your router only broadcasts in a 2.4 GHz band, you can call your operator and see if the router you have allows you to activate the 5 GHz band. If it is not supported and your connection is always very slow, we recommend buying a new router or requesting the company to change it for a more modern one.
Finally, one reason why the connection can be very slow is the distance and obstacles you have to the router. Not all routers emit with the same intensity, your router may be old or the walls of your house are a problem for the connection. If when you are close to the router the speed is good and as you get further away it is lost, this means that the signal emitted by your router is not very strong. Again, you can buy a more current one or ask the company to change it.
Wi-Fi connection is cut every few minutes
This is a somewhat complicated problem to solve. There is no clear reason why your mobile decides to stop being connected to the network. If this happens to you very often, there is probably a problem in your mobile or your router. If at home it only happens with your device, the failure will be in your terminal. If it happens to everyone it is easy to deduce that the problem is with the router. In the latter case, you must contact the operator to change it.
If the problem is in your device it is recommended that you restart it at the factory. Something in the software may be causing this disconnection problem. Make a backup, restore the terminal and check if it has been fixed. Does everything remain the same? It is quite strange, but it could be due to a problem in the Wi-Fi antenna.
It is the most complicated case to solve, although, again, connecting to the 5 GHz network can be interesting to have better stability. If the problem persists we recommend talking to your operator or the manufacturer of your mobile.
My mobile cannot find the Wi-Fi network to establish the connection
Not finding the Wi-Fi network is a fairly common problem and you can have several simple solutions. If you have changed the router and your mobile does not find the new network, the solution, again, maybe in the 5 GHz band. There are fairly modern routers that only broadcast in the 5 GHz band, so some older devices may not detect that network. This will make yours not appear in the list of available networks. Usually, the 2.4 GHz band is always active on the router, but if not, you can call the company for directions.
Another reason may be the collapse of the networks. If you live in a block of flats or in the center of a big city, the list will be filled with dozens of available networks. For some reason, yours may not appear and you cannot connect. An interesting solution is to connect by entering the network manually, you can do this from the Wi-Fi settings of your mobile. You just have to enter the name of the network, the type of security and the password. Check all the characters well, because a slight error will make you unable to connect.
These are some of the most common problems with the Wi-Fi connection of your mobile and the solutions that you can try. Have you managed to connect? Tell us more in the comments or on social media!
