According to a new publication from the United States Patent and Trademark Office on Tuesday, Swiss-based blockchain startup PraSaga has received a patent that places its operating system, dubbed “SagaOS,” on the blockchain. Under the title “Systemic Extensible Blockchain Object Model Comprising A First-class Object Model And A Distributed Ledger Technology”, the methods described in US Patent No. 11436039B2 refer to the processing of multiple message passing transactions through the blockchain.
Today’s smart contracts only allow a single transaction or action to be processed at any given time. Nevertheless, PraSaga claims that its own methods described in the patent can allow the execution of multiple actions simultaneously and in greater numbers. The SagaOS team said it hopes to establish an operating system on the native SagaChain that stores class trees and logic for smart assets held in individual accounts on the SagaChain.
Regarding the news, David Bermann, PraSaga co-founder, CTO, and inventor of the technology said:
“SagaOS is going to improve developers’ ability to build applications, manage their code bases, and address real-world challenges. We set out to address parallel processing of transactions, and in the process, built a method for writing blockchain applications.” that is more suited to other application environments.
The patent, which was filed in 2019, took three years to be granted. PraSaga does not yet have its own listed token or mainnet. Based on its roadmap, the firm plans to complete both tasks by the end of the second quarter of 2023. Hester Peirce, commissioner of the United States Securities and Exchange Commission, praised PraSaga as a potential “precheck of the Transportation Security Administration [autorización de seguridad aérea de Estados Unidos]”for the regulatory use of Blockchain technology.
