Netflix and The Pokémon Company join forces to present the first series stop motion of the franchise call The Pokémon Janitor (Pokémon Concierge). Next, we tell you what you need to know:
What is it about Pokémon Concierge?
This story that expands the universe of the saga will be set in a hotel complex and will tell the story of its concierge, Haru, and his interactions with the guests of the place and their respective Pokémon.
Here is the official synopsis of Pokémon Concierge:
“If you are happy, so am I.” This is the story of Haru, the new concierge of the Pokémon Resort located on one of the southern islands. While she works with her colleagues to care for all the Pokémon staying there, Haru rediscovers herself.
Production team and voice cast
The ambitious production is in charge of Dwarf Studios, which has already worked with the red “N” platform in the series Rilakkuma and Kaoru and the sequel Rilakkuma goes to the theme park.
The direction falls to Ogawa Ikufrom a script by Doki Harumi (ultraman). The concept art and character design was the responsibility of Uesugi Tadahiro. Meanwhile, the legendary singer Mariya Takeuchi will perform the main theme “Have a Good Time Here”.
The Japanese voice cast includes No N (Suzu in In this corner of the world) as Haru; Ai Fairouz (Jolyne Kūjō in JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: Stone Ocean) as Alisa; Okuno Eita (Murakami in Rurouni Kenshin: The Beginning) like Tyler and Takemura Yoshiko (Samantha in Tiger & Bunny) like Watanabe.
“Netflix wants to delight fans in Japan and around the world with The Pokémon Janitor, a totally innovative animated visual and narrative experience stop-motion set in the world of Pokémon, developed in close collaboration with The Pokémon Company,” Minyoung Kim, Vice President of Content at Netflix in Asia, said in a statement. “We are also excited to announce this new series on Pokémon Day and offer fans even more incentives on this special day celebrating the franchise.”
When it premieres Pokémon Concierge?
Pokémon Concierge will be released on December 28, 2023 on Netflix.
The series will consist of four episodes of between 14 and 20 minutes each.
