Things seem to be getting a bit tense among some Playstation executives regarding the possibility that Call of Duty will end up not appearing on Sony’s platform, due to Microsoft’s acquisition of Activision Blizzard, which, although it has not yet been completed, it appears to be progressing well.
If you remember, Phil Spencer recently talked about a deal he signed with Sony in which he ensured the arrival of titles from the Call of Duty saga for “several more years.” However, it seems that these years are not many, since in a recent statement Playstation claims Call of Duty will remain cross-platform for only three years, based on current deal.

New Xbox Game Pass games announced for early September 2022
It has been Jim Ryan, the head of the Playstation division, who has given the news, through the portal gameindustry. The manager, in a rather dissatisfied tone, has stated that, although he had not planned to talk about it, since it is part of “a private business discussion”, the fact that Spencer has brought it up in public has led him to talk about it.
«Microsoft has only offered Call of Duty to stay on PlayStation for three years after the current deal between Activision and Sony ends,” Ryan explained, “After almost 20 years of Call of Duty on PlayStation, their proposal was inadequate on many levels and did not take into account the impact on our players. We want to ensure that PlayStation players continue to have the highest quality Call of Duty experience, and Microsoft’s proposal undermines this principle.”
