Playing is one of the most important actions of the human being. Especially, it has a very positive effect in early childhood, as this is a key stage in the development of girls and boys.
When they and they play they obtain very important learning for their development that benefits them in social, emotional and cognitive aspects. For example, when they play they learn to socialize and live with more people; In addition, they have the opportunity to plan, resolve conflicts and, above all, to function in an environment of respect.
The game in childhood also encourages tender parenting, as it is a fundamental element for mothers, fathers and caregivers to generate relationships based on love, respect and non-violence.
Likewise, through play we manage to increase the chances that girls and boys continue with their education and have a better future. It has been shown that girls and boys who have access to the game -either at home or at school-, may show lower rates of depression, crime, drug use and teenage pregnancy.
In this sense, it is very important that teachers have the tools to accompany children through play. For this reason, last month, from Save the Children we implemented the program “1, 2,3 ¡Por el Learning!” in the state of Yucatan with the aim of training more than 900 teachers on the importance of
Learning through games.
