For years, people have questioned PlatinumGames about the development of Bayonetta 3. Although usually those responsible for this company responded quite vaguely, yesterday a great look at this third installment was finally shared. Thus, Hideki Kamiya, executive producer, and Yusuke Miyata, director of this title, have shared a message of celebration.
Through the official PlatinumGames blog, Kamiya thanked to the fans for their wait, and noted that his role has been to oversee this project. This was what he commented:
“I’m sorry I kept you all waiting. It’s been about four years since the announcement in 2017… We really, really made it wait.
In those four years, I’m sure people had a lot of worries like ‘What’s going on with Bayonetta 3?’ and ‘Are they really still working on it?’ and ‘When are we going to get new news?’ But as much as everyone wants to see Bayonetta 3 as soon as possible, all of us who worked on it have been working hard to show it, and without being able to hear any applause from the fans, we have worked for four years.
Now we have finally been able to show the fruits of our work and the team can finally breathe a sigh of relief and we can focus even more on development. For us it has also been four long years.
The impressions of everyone who saw the ad definitely energizes us. There are still many secrets about Bayonetta 3, but for now we would like everyone to let their imaginations run wild with this trailer and get excited.
With Bayonetta 3, I’m still monitoring the world and the story, but to breathe new life into the game, I chose Yusuke Miyata, a long-time and trusted co-worker (although he may be a bit silly), as director.
So everyone, no need to worry, Bayonetta 3 is real, and the day when you can hold it in your hands and play is definitely coming! Rest easy and look forward to more information to come, because no matter how high your expectations are, I promise you that we will provide an experience that will exceed them all. “
For its part, Miyata spoke on how excited he is to work as a director, and discussed a little more about the novelties that this third part will have. This was what he commented:
“Hello everyone! This is Yusuke Miyata, the director of Bayonetta 3. We’ve had you waiting for a long time, but I’m so happy that we were finally able to bring you a new trailer.
This is my first time working on the Bayonetta series, but just like all of you, I am a huge fan and played the previous games non-stop. After being selected to direct, of course, I not only played the previous games again, but also read all the Bayonetta-related books from cover to cover before getting into deep discussions with Kamiya-san about all aspects of the game. from systems to configuration before starting work.
So what did you think of the new trailer?
We were sprinkling a lot of new elements throughout the hectic pace. I’d like to talk a bit about one of those, a standout new mechanic that lets you control hellish demons, called “Demon Slave.”
Unlike Climax Summons from previous games that automatically defeated enemies and returned to Inferno, this mechanic allows players to control demons during gameplay and unleash a host of intuitive actions. Each demon’s abilities vary, and the types of abilities that are advantageous in a given situation can change at any time. How many there are? What else can you do? Well, there are many more things I would like to tell you about, but I have to stop here for now. However, there is a lot of hidden information in the trailer that I didn’t mention here, so please consider watching it again until the next announcement.
We are in the final stretch of development right now, working to make the core of the game even more fun and test the game endlessly. As the culmination of this series loved by all of you, we are doing our best to make it a masterpiece worthy of the Bayonetta name, so please wait and anticipate a little more. “
