In the current administration, Mexico managed to go from 138th place with Enrique Peña Nieto to 124th in the Corruption Perception Index carried out by Transparency International, a study that measures the 180 countries of the world, but ranks as the country worst evaluated of the 38 countries that make up the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) and in the penultimate of the G20 member nations.
For analysts, the lack of transparency in contracts and public spending, direct awards and the weakening of the institutions responsible for monitoring the use of resources, have overshadowed the achievements that the current federal administration could have in this area.
