More than 1 in 4 people reported losing money to internet fraud in 2021.
In recent months, the OnlyFans social network has gained worldwide fame, which is why stories have emerged that show how many people, especially women, are succeeding in this space. But before the success stories, there are also others, such as the case of a model of this social network for adults who was arrested for extorting his subscribers.
The OnlyFans platform has gained ground over other social networks, and all this because of the benefits that many content creators have obtained by selling their photos and videos in this space.
The adults-only social network is not being used as a way to generate money in the face of this difficult economic scenario that is being experienced around the world, but it is also working as a driver and way to promote content creators as a personal brand and many times their companies, ways of life and even political campaigns.
Since the platform gained popularity among millennials and generation Z, the idea that it was an adult-only website was kept in mind due to the explicit images that were shared, but currently, it can be specified that it is a space for creators of different genres, not only linked to the erotic.
OnlyFans model extorts subscribers
An OnlyFans story is drawing attention, but this time not because it is a success story as a content creator in this space, but because it involves the police.
On this occasion, the story that happened in Venezuela, after a young woman identified by the authorities as Alexandra Bastidas, was arrested after being accused of extorting her platform subscribers.
According to local media, the 21-year-old woman extorted her clients with recordings, and threatened to pay her large sums of money or divulged the videos she had.
It was known that Bastidas used his social networks to promote his sexual services, however, in his Instagram account there is no record of this.
In this sense, and according to the victims, the Venezuelan model uploaded explicit material on the Onlyfans platform, where she allegedly takes her victims.
According to the Extortion Investigations Division of the Scientific, Criminal and Criminal Investigations Corps (CICPC), authorities of the South American country, the young woman shared content where she appears in underwear, bikinis and suggestive poses.
It is not the first time that a content creator on this platform has been linked to a criminal issue, remember that in 2022 another model was arrested for buying luxury cars with bad checks and also used the social network.
And this is how these digital spaces can be a good tool for people, but when they are not used well we can also be victims of criminals or people with bad intentions.
