OnlyFans has a strict filter for people to register, so this case causes controversy.
Currently the platform registers one million active content creators around the world.
Being a content creator has become the ideal job for many people in the world and even more so when they are well paid just by sharing it on social networks, but many times this path can lead to serious problems, as happens to a 22-year-old man who was jailed in Singapore for uploading content to the popular OnlyFans platform after learning he was being viewed by a 12-year-old girl.
The name of OnlyFans has been the protagonist in recent months, either to tell a good story or a bad one.
According to data from the same platform, it states that it has existed since 2016, which is why it registers a million users around the world and has become the best tool to generate money for many people.
In that sense, and with that number of users, a study conducted by Semrush, The United States is the country that registers the most users of the digital platform, where in January 2022 they accumulated approximately 248 million visits to the website of adult content creators. This country is followed by the United Kingdom, registering 23.5 million visits on the photo and video sharing platform.
Content creator arrested for his photos on OnlyFans
Although many describe the social network for adults as a success, not everything is hunky-dory, as there are many user stories that have revealed the problems they face on a daily basis as part of the application.
A 22-year-old man, identified as Titus Low, is experiencing a dramatic story, as he is behind bars for using the application of British origin.
The case arose in Singapore, where a court ordered the boy to be imprisoned and fined for violating a court order that is registered in that country on OnlyFans.
Young Low had to pay just over two thousand 100 dollars (around 22 Mexican pesos), to upload photos and videos for adults, to become the first convicted content creator from that place.
In addition, he was sentenced to three weeks in jail for ignoring a police order while an investigation was underway and reopening his profile.
According to what was reported by the local media, a man was responsible for carrying Titus to the authorities, after discovering that his 12-year-old niece had explicit material of the young man on her cell phone.
In this sense, in the middle of the investigation, the authorities asked the boy to refrain from continuing to use his account, for which he had to hand over the access to it.
However, Low continued to access the site to publish new content, they explain to the authorities that he did this because he had to respond to his subscribers, remembering that OnlyFans responds to a prepaid model of access to exclusive material.
However, the young man’s defense mentioned that Low is not responsible for his OnlyFans content being consumed by a girl without the supervision of her parents.
This case rekindles the alerts and demands that have arisen with this social network that is only for use by adults, so it has a security filter to register, but even so there are stories of young people who are in the world digital.
As it happened in Spain, after some parents alerted the authorities, after discovering that their 14-year-old son is a content creator on the adult platform.
In conclusion, many specialists warn about the importance of reviewing the privacy and security options of applications in which young people create a profile.
