If Saitama is able to walk on water, would this make him a God?
Saitama, the iconic protagonist of One Punch Man, possesses strength far superior to that of a human, but his adventures in chapter 155 may have placed him practically at the level of a God.
Saitamaaccording to the same series he has let us know on countless occasions, he is the strongest man in the world. Over time he has collected quite a few incredible achievements, but his latest feat goes beyond mere strength and could be categorized as something from the realm of the divine.
Saitama has carved valleys and destroyed meteorites with the power of his fists alone., and those were some of his first achievements since One Punch Man began. Unintentionally, Saitama constantly destroys the asphalt under his feet, or even dissipates or pushes back the clouds due to the shock wave of his strong punches, in such a way that he achieves change the time in kilometers around. The absurdity of his absolute and seemingly unlimited power is, of course, one of the series’ favorite skits, and these displays of his incredible power serve to translate his daily life into an act of true willpower.
Could Saitama’s strength be comparable to other deities?
After all the above, in chapter 155, Saitama confronts the executive of the Monster Association, Evil Natural Water, who has managed to reach the coast and attract the entire Pacific Ocean with him, a feat that has turned him into Evil Oceanic Water, in addition to his body having acquired so much volume that aircraft carriers can seem small enough in his presence. At the beginning of the chapter, his liquid body and large size seem to pose a problem for Saitama. However, over the course of a few minutes, Saitama runs as fast as he can to walk on water, having made an important decision to stop him. She concentrates and delivers the most powerful punch we’ve seen throughout the One Punch Man series, thereby causing the sea to part and reveal the seabed below. In this way, he created a path that leads to the horizon. He then arrives at one of the many aircraft carriers and discovers, while standing on its deck, that thanks to his power he is able to apply enough force to manipulate the aircraft carriers as if it were a surfboard, which gives lead to a segment of the chapter in which Saitama surfs the aircraft carrier through the huge tsunami that caused the water to return to normalputting the ship and its respective crew safe.
Although the divine nature of Saitama’s power has been joked countless times and even speculated how far his incredible strength could go, parting the sea, just like Moses did, seems to be the most literal representation so far that One Punch Man has done to us about its protagonist as a divine being. On the other hand, the ability to walk on water is so closely tied to Jesus that even the phrase alone could be used to denote the divinity of the event in the series. Being some of the best-known divine acts in popular culture, the use of both consecutively is intended to give the impression that Saitama’s power is indeed at the level of divine intervention.. Of course, that may be the least you should be concerned about, as the evil “God” has been quite focused on his latest attempt to wipe any trace of humanity off the face of the Earth, empowering the Homeless Emperor and trying to deceive Tatsumaki to accept his help.
Although the Centipede Sage, Centisennin, believed that the Evil Ocean Water would die instantly from this attack, it is wise not to minimize the damage a monster like this could deal so quickly. In fact, the exact mechanisms of how it spreads are unclear, but if any monster from One-Punch Man can achieve a pure Dragon Ball Z-style “single-cell regenerate”, it would probably be Evil Natural Water. Regardless of whether the blow was fatal or not, parting the sea and walking on water are the most obvious proof that Saitama’s abilities in One Punch Man may have no end.
