From January 19 to 29, 2023, the upcoming edition of the Sundance Film Festival will take place, the prestigious film gathering in the United States that celebrates independent productions locally and internationally.

And just this week, the titles that make up the official program of Sundance 2023 were revealed and that undoubtedly aspire to make this the starting point of a wide run to reach more and more audiences.
In terms of Mexican representation, the next Sundance will exhibit two national co-productions in the category of World Dramatic Film Competition. One is Heroicthe second feature film by filmmaker David Zonana (Workforce), whose plot revolves around an 18-year-old boy of indigenous roots who, after entering a military college, must deal with a violent and ruthless institution. The second is Witchcraftby Chilean filmmaker Christopher Murray, this being a period film about an indigenous girl who, after suffering an injustice, asks for help from a powerful organization of sorcerers.
