The voice assistant Google,Google Assistant, seems to have no future in the industry of that market segmentespecially given the favoritism that exists for Apple’s Siri, Amazon’s Alexa and due to the rise of artificial intelligence.
As explained in a report computer today, it is quite likely that virtual assistants of the future will have some AI like ChatGPT built into them, making it possible for them to set up tasks or answer questions more efficiently and quickly. The ace up the sleeve of those from Mountain View is Bard.
The report adds that Google is putting aside its voice assistant and the best proof of this is a worsening of the service that some users have been reporting on sites like Reddit. where they have indicated that “they have noticed a decrease in the performance of the Google assistant.”
Google’s plans
The reason Google seems to be forgetting about the Assistant is that would be planning to use its Bard chatbot to replace the voice assistant in the coming months. While that happens, there are criticisms of the service.
One of the users on Reddit states that the Google assistant “is getting more and more nerfed.” Even “basic uses like setting alarms or playing music seem to have become both buggy and inconsistent.”
Another netizen notes that “Google Assistant is much worse than it used to be, and has degraded over time” and adds that “The Assistant on all my Google devices has gotten worse.”
“I swear Google Assistant has gone dumb in the last two weeks. He can’t understand basic sentences unless he robotically speaks directly into the microphone, or he just ignores me. And when I yell next to my Google Home, it plays the next YouTube video on my phone instead of the next song on the speaker. This has never happened to me before, and little things like this have become very annoying.”, assures another user.
Everything seems to indicate that Google is not providing the necessary support for Google Assistant, concentrating all operational efforts on its next assistant powered by artificial intelligence.
