Within the framework of CinemaCon 2023, Paramount Pictures confirmed that the second part of Smile It is officially in development. However, details about the plot or a possible release window have not yet been confirmed.

From the outside it was perceived that the studio was more than happy with the results obtained by the filmmaker’s debut film. This stated at the time Brian Robbins, CEO of Paramount Pictures, about the agreement:
“The great success of Smile is a testament to Parker’s unique and fresh filmmaking, and we are delighted that he is making Paramount his home.”
For their part, the co-chairs of the conglomerate, Michael Ireland and Daria Cercek, had the following to say:
“Parker knows how to keep people on the edge of their seats and we’re glad we can continue to scare audiences together.”
Originally, the film was intended to be released directly on Paramount Plus, but a strong reception at test screenings helped lead to the decision to take it theatrically. Such a decision was very good, since the project raised $217 million dollars globally, against a low budget of $17 million. In addition, he delivered a disturbing marketing campaign that gave a lot to talk about.
