New details have been revealed about how the Obi-Wan Kenobi series will connect to Rogue One: A Star Wars Story.
According Making Star Wars, the 501st and the Purge Troopers pursue a large ship Obi-Wan is traveling in that ends up in Jabiim. The ship has been compared to the transport in which Command travels to Tatooine in The Boba Fett Book.
In the Expanded Universe, Jabiim was one of many planets the Republic went to war on. Obi-Wan Kenobi himself was fighting on the planet where he was left for dead after being captured by Asajj Ventress, which will surely bring back a lot of memories. Perhaps in flashback form with him fighting alongside Anakin against the Separatist army.
Here Obi-Wan KenobiYou will meet O’Shea Jackson, playing one of the partisans who we know are aligned with Saw Gerrera, and from the timeline we’re pretty sure he’s not playing a younger version of the character, as we could see Gerrera played by Forest Whitaker at about the same time. timeline that takes place in the series, when he finds a young Jyn Erso in Rogue One.
Obi-wan will discover that Jabiim is still in the middle of the war, although these rebel fanatics now use the weapons of the Republic to face the Empire.

In both the series Star Wars Rebels like in Rogue One: A Star Wars Story we discover that this group of partisans one day became radicalized, paranoid and ruthless in their ideals. This group is made up of those who can fight and those who can’t, and the site posits that we’ll see some join Bail Organa’s Rebel Alliance, while others decide on a darker route with Saw.
It is not known if we will see familiar faces of rogueone, but in this timeline we could again meet very interesting characters such as the director Orson Krennic played by Ben Mendelsohn, as well as Whitaker himself as Saw Gerrera or even a very young Jyn Erso being raised by Gerrera living with the partisans.
