O2, Telefónica’s secondary operator, continues to improve user conditions without a price fee. Almost without a big announcement involved, the company has uploaded the data and has improved the connection of fiber of many of its users. Specifically, O2 customers (new and old) will go from having 60 GB of mobile data to 100 GB, which is already available.
In addition, the speed of the fiber has also been improved in those users who have a convergent rate, going from 600 symmetrical Mbps to 1 Gb fiber, which represents an unprecedented leap in network performance. And all without price increases.
But, O2 has not only improved the highest convergent rate, but also many of the others. From now on, both for current users and for new registrations, all receive improvements.
For example: the old rate of 300 Mbps of Fiber and 25 GB of data becomes 600 Mbps and 50 GB, but maintaining the price. And the highest mobile-only rate also benefits from the increase, going on to have unlimited calls and 100 GB of data for 20 euros. All prices with VAT included.
O2 improves all rates without raising the price
The only two rates that remain the same are the Fiber+Mobile rate of 100 Mbps and 10 GB, the mobile-only rate with 20 GB and unlimited calls for 10 euros per month, and the fiber-only rate of 300 Mbps for 27 euros. The complete fan is as follows:
- Fiber 1 Gbps + Mobile with 100 GB and unlimited calls for €50 (or reduced price of €45 for customers who contracted O2 in the beginning).
- Fiber 500 Mbps + Mobile with 75 GB and unlimited calls for €44.
- Fiber 500 Mbps + Mobile with 50 GB and unlimited calls for €38.
- Fiber 100 Mbps + Mobile with 10 GB and unlimited calls for €30.
- Mobile 100 GB with unlimited calls for €20.
- Mobile 20 GB with unlimited calls for €10.
- 300 Mbps fiber without mobile phone for €27.
- Additional line in convergent packs with 100 GB and unlimited calls for €15.
- Additional line in convergent packs with 10 GB and unlimited calls for €5.
Although the increase in data and speed is already applied to regular customers, the speed increase in fiber still does not seem to be reflected if we run a speed test directly from the router.
However, the company confirms the improvements will be applied to all rates maintaining the same price (also for current contracts) on August 22, so it is likely that it will be from that day when we will see the aforementioned improvements.
