Metroid Dread it is a game with a first level technical performance. Although there are a couple of sections where the frame rate drops by the second, and the loading screens could be faster, in general the experience does not present major problems. Nevertheless, a bug was recently released that may cause the game to crash on its own. Nintendo is already aware of this issue, and they are working to fix it.
Through its official site, Nintendo pointed out that this inconvenience is caused when the player tries to open a specific marked door near the end of the adventure, so an error will appear, causing the software to shut down on its own. Fortunately, a patch will be provided at some point this month to fix this issue. This was what was commented on the matter:
“We are aware of a bug in the Metroid Dread game that prevents the player from continuing when the specific sequence is followed near the end of the game. We are preparing a software update to avoid this error, which should be available in October 2021.
Near the end of the game, if the player destroys a door while a map marker for that specific door is displayed on the map, the game will be forcibly closed and the following message will appear: ‘The software closed because an error occurred ‘”.
A bug has been found in #MetroidDread that can prevent players from progressing under a certain condition. A patch will be released by the end of October to fix this. We apologize for the inconvenience.

Meanwhile, Nintendo has mentioned that once the game is restarted, it will be necessary to remove this marker from the map in order to avoid any problems. There is no exact date for the patch yet, but we won’t have to wait long for this fix.
In related topics, Metroid Dread debuted in great form in Japan. Similarly, former MercurySteam workers complain about their lack of inclusion in this game.
Editor’s Note:
Although it is a pity that several players suffer from this problem, the game has very few technical errors, and these do not reflect the quality that is present. Hopefully the patch arrives as quickly as possible, so that future people don’t have to deal with this issue.
