The New World thing is being crazy: a week after its launch it is still the third game with the most players on Steam. Right now there are more than 329,000 people connected and today’s peak stands at 745,337 players, a figure higher than what it is giving Dota2 and approaching that of Counter-Strike: Global Offensive.
Here we are when Amazon confirms the arrival of the first post-launch update of New World for today. Specifically, the patch 1.0.1 It will be available from 12:00 noon (Spanish peninsular time, 5:00 a.m. in CDMX).
As we can read in the official statement, the priority for the development team during these days has been to make sure that the players could enter and play without queues (The first day there were hundreds of hours of queues due to the huge number of players trying to enter). For this, they assure from the study, they have increased both the number of available servers (more than double) and the capacity of the existing ones.
Unfortunately, they have not yet been able to implement the functionality that allows players transfer your characters from one server to another. The study has confirmed that it is one of their priorities and that while some members of the team are dedicated to it, others have been working on a good handful of quality of life improvements, as well as a lot of fixes.
In the list of improvements included in update 1.0.1 of New World We can see that the AFK prevention system (Away From Keyboard, which means when a player “moves away from the keyboard” / away) has been adjusted so that it is able to avoid the simulation of mouse movement, and they have been retouched the times in which the game warns by means of an AFK message, decreasing from 20 to 15 minutes, as well as the time required to disconnect the absent player, which also decreases from 20 to 15 minutes.
The list of bug fixes is quite extensive and they are both general in nature and related to the AI and mission system. You can check all the details in the official statement.
