CD Projekt REDgradually, has been recovering its reputation after colliding resoundingly with Cyberpunk 2077. Once they have turned the page on the complicated situation, but not before solving most of the problems of the aforementioned game, the Polish studio is already looking towards a new horizon. This Tuesday, presented its ambitious plan for the futurewhich contemplates the development of multiple projects of its successful franchises, including The Witcher.
Last March, CD Projekt RED announced that it was working on a new The Witcher. However, he is not the only one on the way. In total, those from Poland prepare up to five new games in the franchisewhich includes a new trilogy which will continue the events of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt.
Let’s go in order. The game of The Witcher closest, which is internally known as “Project Sirius”, will be developed by The Molasses Flood, the CD Projekt RED studio located in Boston, United States. However, it will be supervised by the Poles. It is currently in the pre-production phase, so there is still a lot of work ahead of it.
Later, the new trilogy of The Witcherwhose development is carried out by CD Projekt Red. Internally it is known as “Project Polaris” and, like the previous project, it is in the pre-production stage with more than 150 employees involved. The most interesting thing is that The company plans to release all three titles over a six-year period.. So, assuming no bump in the road, we would have a delivery every two years. From when? That remains the great unknown.

The third and last project related to The Witcher it is “Project Canis Majoris”, which will be developed by a third party study. The only thing that has been reported about this proposal is that it is an RPG adventure that prioritizes the narrative section, and that it is set in an open world.
The future of CD Projekt RED beyond The Witcher
However, CD Projekt RED not only has its sights on The Witcher. The company finally confirmed that Cyberpunk 2077 will have a sequel developed by the main studio. “The sequel to Cyberpunk 2077 will taste the full power and potential of the universe cyberpunk“, they mention. Of course, it seems that this project still needs a lot of time to see the light.
This does not mean, however, that they will completely forget about Cyberpunk 2077 until taking the project of the sequel. In fact, his plan is to launch the expansion phantom liberty at some point in 2023. There are more than 350 employees involved in its development, so it will hardly be delayed.

Finally, at CD Projekt RED they are aware that, despite having two quite popular franchises, they cannot depend entirely on them forever. Due to the above, are preparing a third intellectual property. It is known as “Project Hadar” and will be completely independent of The Witcher Y cyberpunk. They point out that it has been in incubation since the end of 2021 and, at the moment, a small number of people are in charge of its concept phase.
Without a doubt, CD Projekt RED’s strategy is extremely ambitiousa. Have they learned from the initial fiasco of Cyberpunk 2077 so as not to repeat it? That’s what we all expect…
