Medieval fantasy series have become one of the greatest battle points between the different video on demand platforms. With HBO producing Game of Thrones prequels, Amazon acquiring the rights to The Lord of the Rings and Netflix succeeding with The Witcher, no one wants to be left behind knowing the huge market niche out there. However, within this same genre, now Netflix cancels Maldita after its first season, as it has confirmed The Hollywood Reporter portal.
The series, called Cursed In its original version, it premiered its first and last season in the middle of last year 2020, so it is surprising that Netflix has taken so long to make a decision about the future of fiction starring Katherine Langford (For thirteen reasons). The play, based on the graphic novel by Frank Miller and Tom Wheeler, took us back to the classic legend of King Arthur, with Merlin the Enchantress included, but with a different perspective. And it is that the protagonist was the young man who would eventually become the Lady of the Lake.

However, since we will not know how the story continues, because Netflix has decided to cut their losses, something that is becoming a custom on the platform after the first seasons of many of its series. Fortunately for fans of the genre, the North American company has high hopes for The witcher (with a second season coming this year and two more productions on the way) and in Shadow and bone, a new adaptation of a fantasy universe that has become the revelation of the season and that has already confirmed its renewal for a second part.
