However, with this new service launched, it’s time to grow.
In the last hours it has been possible to know through its own official website that Night School Studio, developers of Oxenfree and Afterparty, have been acquired by Netflix as an internal study of these.
Netflix is heading towards expansion in the world of video games
It should be noted that with this acquisition, Netflix has sent a message to video game developers, stating that it offers these a unprecedented canvas for the creation of a new type of entertainment with a reach to millions of people around the world, offering a certain creative freedom.
As for the guys from Night School Studio, they have stated that it’s an honor to be the first studio to officially join Netflix, confirming that they will continue making games as before, but with the approval and support of the streaming platform, highlighting that on Netflix have been concerned with maintaining the creative vision of the studio, which is currently developing Oxenfree 2.
On the future of Netflix in the video game industry, there is still much to say about it, since there have been several rumors that point to an alliance with PlayStation that would be directed to compete directly with the Gamepass. It only remains to wait to see that new games and studies are coming to the service and if we will see them expand also in the version for PC and consoles.
