This fall, Apple TV Plus launches the documentary Selena Gomez: My Mind & Me; a project to which he acquired the rights in September 2022, produced by the companies Lighthouse Management & Media and Interscope Films. It is an intimate portrait that covers six years in the life of the famous actress and singer that gives the film its title, emphasizing her serious health problems, her way of coping with fame, her altruism and the path of healing to achieve peace with herself.
What is the documentary about? Selena Gomez: My Mind & Me?
An official synopsis dictates the following (via Apple):
“After years in the spotlight, Selena Gomez achieves unimaginable stardom. But just as she reaches a new peak, an unexpected turn leads her into darkness. This exceptionally raw and intimate documentary covers her six-year journey into a new light.”
Who is Selena Gomez?
The unmistakable American actress achieved global recognition before turning twenty thanks to her leading role in the series The Wizards of Waverly Place (2007-2012) from Disney Channel. Simultaneously, Selena Gomez laid the foundation for her career as a lyricist and singer that would later earn her high spots on the music charts. In 2017, the Texan sold around seven million albums and 22 million singles worldwide, in addition to being named Woman of the Year by Billboard magazine. She is to date one of the most popular celebrities on Instagram with her 350 million followers; a UNICEF ambassador since 2009 who also remains in force on the small screen, on the occasion of the cooking program Selena + Chefas well as the acclaimed comedy Only Murders in the Building for which she was nominated for an Emmy.
On the other hand, a less luminous aspect in Gomez’s life arose as a result of her health problems. In 2015, her personality publicly revealed that she had been diagnosed with lupus. The following year, she had to cancel her music tours due to the depression and anxiety that began to plague her while dealing with that autoimmune condition. Some time later, it was learned that she faced a risky kidney transplant and that she was medically diagnosed with bipolarity.
That said, the Apple TV Plus documentary will tackle Selena Gomez’s difficult journey to battle and overcome her inner demons, while never losing the love of her countless fans. “The last 6 years of my life have been captured by Alek Keshishian to Selena Gomez: My Mind & Me”, wrote the histrion On twitter. “I can’t wait to share this very personal journey with you.”
about the manager
Alek Keshishian is a filmmaker who began his career in the 1980s as the baton behind various music videos. In 1991, he revealed to the world his documentary Madonna: Truth or Dare, a feature film shown out of competition at the Cannes Film Festival that year and which would eventually garner favorable comments from specialized critics. The film portrays the concerts and behind-the-scenes anecdotes of Madonna’s Blond Ambition World Tour in 1990. For a decade, it held the record for the highest-grossing documentary in history, in addition to being recognized for representing homosexuality honestly and without value judgments.
Keshishian, who happens to be the brother of Selena Gomez’s manager, explained weeks ago (via The Hollywood Reporter) that its purpose with the coming My Mind & Me It wasn’t making a traditional pop documentary.
“I wanted to show something more authentic and Selena too. She has a raw vulnerability that captured me. I had no idea it would turn into a six-year labor of love.”
When does the documentary premiere Selena Gomez: My Mind & Me?
The film will have its premiere on November 4, 2022 through the platform streaming AppleTVPlus.

Antonio G. Spindola I have very bad memory. Out of solidarity with my memories, I choose to lose myself too. Preferably in a movie theater.
