A couple of weeks from the end of Ms Marvel, there is still much to talk about the conclusion of the first season. However, this time we are not discussing the meaning of the post-credits scene, but rather the inspiration behind the final battle, which, according to its directors, It has a series of elements Dragon Ball Z Y My poor angel.
Through a new interview with Comicbook, Bilall Fallah and Adil El Arbi, directors and executive producers of Ms. Marvel, the final battle of the series is inspired by Dragon Ball Z, while the sequence where Kamala and company take on the Damage Control soldiers took a number of elements from My poor angel. This was what Fallah commented:
“With our VFX artist, Nordin Rahhali, we were exploring what we could do with this power and have that ‘Embiggen’ moment. It’s a manga-like image, almost Dragon Ball Z-influenced. All these cool things that, yeah, we explored. And I think when we were doing it, we felt like there was so much more we could do. And I think we’ve just touched the tip of the iceberg.”
For his part, Arbi added:
“We also wanted to put animation on it, because in the pilot that was something very, very important to us. That fantasy sequence and all that. We still wanted to have a version of that in the ending, so we came up with that My Poor Little Angel sequence, where she would explain it on the board and all that. You really see that flavor that is obviously also inspired by Edgar Wright. That’s how we managed, after all, to maintain that kind of identity of the show and what we tried to do in the pilot.”
Although at the moment we do not know if a second season of Ms Marvel is already in development we will see Kamala Khan again in the marvels, a film that will be released next year. On related topics, the series made a major reveal for the MCU. Likewise, this is what the post-credits scene of the show means.
Editor’s Note:
After seeing all the chapters, I can say that the series of Ms Marvel it is worth it. Although I wasn’t a huge fan of the ending, five of the six episodes are pretty good, and a good Marvel experiment.
