Motorola has been announcing different devices for the world market for a few days. Today it’s time to talk about a new model that has just been leaked and that doesn’t make any sense. This is the Motorola One Vision Plus. If we pay attention to the name, this device would come to replace the One Vision launched last year, something that may make sense. The reality is that it arrives with meaningless hardware, with hardly any changes and repeating one of the company’s biggest problems. Yes, we are talking about the choice of the processor.
Motorola One Vision Plus, now with Snapdragon, but without more performance
The device has been leaked from several different sources, so it looks official and should be released shortly. If we take a look at the characteristics of the device it does not make much sense, because it is not a real advance over the original One Vision. Motorola has wanted to launch a new device with the same base and slight changes that contribute little or nothing.
We don’t know the design, but the list of features is completed with a 6.3-inch screen, 4 GB of RAM, 64 GB of storage, NFC support and a Qualcomm Snapdragon 665 processor. These are all the features that have been leaked about One Vision Plus.
What are the differences from the original One Vision? The Qualcomm processor! The One Vision was introduced with an Exynos 9609, a standard mid-range processor without much fanfare. The most curious thing is that the new One Vision Plus has gone through Geekbench and its results in the benchmark are not better than those of the original model, that is, it does not represent a jump in performance. It is even below some tests of the original One Vision.
This lets us know that Motorola has included a ‘Plus’ in the name without improving the screen, without improving the RAM, without improving the storage and without improving the processor. This component has only changed the manufacturer, but will not be a real improvement for the user. It remains only to wait to see if the new One Vision Plus has a more advanced camera system or design improvements.
Motorola is going through one of the worst moments in its history, something that does not surprise us too much by following these types of strategies. Its mid-range devices are more expensive and less powerful than those of most of its competing manufacturers. This only leaves them a place in markets where brands such as realme or Xiaomi have not yet arrived.
