What we see with them is a more than outstanding way to move around the city in a comfortable, simple, guarantees and very respectful with the environment. In addition, and as something key in this type of vehicle that moves thanks to electrified systems, we will obtain great advantages, even when it comes to its use, and that will come in handy for making tourism routes and that, probably, with the conventional ones make it a little more difficult.
Basic fundamentals
And it is that Spain is a very seductive country for bicycle lovers, and if it is on the back of an electrified one, even more so. We are talking about a country with an average of 300 days of sunshine per year and ranking as the second most visited country in the world. We have infrastructures for all budgets, three coasts with three different seas, mountain places, beach… that is why the most frequent users of riding a bike also choose to do tourism with their electric bike.
But what do we mean by places of tourism? This is a concept that is included in what is known as cycle tourism, and which has also made it possible for this type of electrified vehicle to be accommodated. As such, the so-called cycle tourism consists of to travel by bicycle visiting the places that one finds in his path.
It is done for pleasure, not for competition, so it cannot be called competitive practice. Trips of any duration can be made, both for the day and for several weeks, months or years. This is very convenient to pass through small towns that preserve their traditions and the essence of a life that takes place in harmony with nature. Everything translates into enjoying the purest sustainable tourism in form and with our electric bike.
Increasingly fashionable, if we add to a great sporting experience the pedaling aid it becomes a pleasure to climb certain mountain passes in what might otherwise be an effort for only the most prepared. This is how it has become a luxury item for these trips. It’s more; With an electric bike we can mix with nature through alternative tourism routes and enjoy the landscapes without having to be expert cyclists.
What type of electric bike is the most correct
As we say, the electrified bicycle has become an incentive for cycle tourism. There are several good bicycles with which we can go sightseeing, do sports, but also help us to better reach our destination on difficult days. Bicycle touring or pannier and bike tourism is a non-competitive modality that mixes the sport of cycling with tourism.
Obviously, and whether you are a more expert user or one who is just starting out, it is essential to understand that not all bikes work for all routes. Just as a sports car does not get along with the most swampy or mountainous terrain with the high risk of suffering depending on what mishaps, the urban e-bike that mounts batteries is also not very suitable for mountainous territories, for example.
That is why it is always advisable to use the most correct one or the one that best suits our common activities. In the case of doing tourism with our electric bike, in general, we tend to observe the mountain bikes, the popular e-MTBswhich are the most suitable for cobbled routes, resistance routes, for more aggressive routes…
Yes, it is true that some shops include bike sections intended for cycle tourism, however, it is also worth going through the Gravel, Trekking or Hybrid, even. These, surely, are the most suitable for our interests since they are formulated for all types of conditions.
- e-MTB. It is a mountain bike to which an electric motor has been integrated into the part of the bottom bracket. This motor is powered by a rechargeable battery to help move the bike forward as long as you are pedaling
- gravel. They are multipurpose electrified bicycles that allow riding on all types of terrain, being able to alternate sections with asphalt with forest tracks or gravel, where appropriate.
- trekking. Comfortable, versatile and fun, they offer the extra power we need to go further, but above all to better withstand road or trail conditions for longer. They are more robust and with softer suspensions.
- hybrids. They have a battery that does not need to be recharged through a power plug, but is recharged by the movement of the pedals made by the cyclist or through the movement of their wheels. They are very comfortable for mountainous routes.
